Accommodation for exchange students
The University can provide accommodation on the Saint-Louis campus for exchange students.
If you prefer to look for accommodation independently then there are different options available. In this case, please always be careful and follow the tips given to you on the page "Alternative accommodation options".
Arranging accommodation through the University
Which residence is available to exchange students ?
The University offers to rent to its exchange students, in partnership with Xior Student Housing, bedrooms in the mixed student residence "Ommegang" located on the Saint-Louis campus.
The residence has 3 floors, each with about fifty furnished bedrooms, collective fully equipped kitchens and common sanitary fittings. It has a lounge, a terrace, a laundry room, a bikeroom and a caretaker. The 7th floor and some bedrooms on the 6th floor are reserved for exchange students.
There are 4 types of accommodation: room standard with washbasin, room standard + with washbasin, room premium with private sanitary fittings and studio with private sanitary fittings and small kitchen.
Rents vary from 396€ to 628€ per month depending on the size, the level of comfort, the housing equipment and services. The charges (energy, internet, cleaning of the common rooms, caretaker) amount to 85€ a month. Deposit is equivalent to one or two month's rent. The rental of bedding at the fixed price of 50€ is compulsory.
Reserving a student room of the University
Upon confirmation of your exchange stay in Saint-Louis, you should complete the accommodation reservation form as soon as possible. Depending on the type of room you choose, and also on the rooms available when your completed form is returned, the Accommodation Office will send you a lease agreement with the information to enable you to pay the rent and the deposit. Please note that reservation is only effective once you have paid the deposit.
The room allocation process is organised in order of requests'reception date. It is very important to respect the registration deadlines with the International Relations Unit (May 31 for the first term or for the whole year and November 20 for the second term).
You will be sent by email all the practical information you need regarding how to obtain your keys before you travel to Brussels.
