Teaching Mobility (OUT)

The new Erasmus+ programme offers teaching staff within a higher education institution the possibility of training or teaching at a higher education establishment in another country other than their own.

Objectives

To encourage higher education institutions to broaden and enrich the scope and content of the courses offered;

To allow students unable to participate in mobility programmes to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of teachers and specialists from other European countries;

To promote the exchange of good practices between institutions;

To establish links between higher education institutions.

Length of stay

The course can range from 2 days (with a minimum of 8 class hours) to 2 months (excluding travel). However, a minimum of 5 days is highly recommended in order to significantly contribute to the teaching programme in the host institution or to successfully receive training.

The principles of the mobility

This mobility programme is accessible to the teaching staff of higher education institutions participating in the Erasmus+ programme. The activities carried out by a teacher have to be integrated within the curriculum of the host institution. This mobility needs to be organised in the framework of a bilateral agreement between the host and home institutions in possession of an Erasmus University Charter. The mobilisation needs to be governed by an individual education plan.

Testimonials

Isabelle Hachez is a teacher in the faculty of Law at Saint Louis University. She made a linguistic  stay at Galway in Irland (2021-2022)

“January 22, 2022: first day of a "full english" week in Galway . Five days of classes at the Atlantic Language Galway (3 hours of group classes in the morning - we were between 3 and 6, depending on the day - and 2 hours of individual classes in the afternoon), 8 days in an absolutely charming host family, and from their house to the language school, 30 minutes by bus or an hour of sumptuous walk along the sea. Because Galway is also a great place to live, where connecting language skills with life experiences is a matter of course. Why this week? To improve my English for professional purposes, in connection with my current research projects. Why Galway? Because it is one of the destinations proposed in the framework of the Ersamus+ scholarship that I was lucky enough to benefit from, and because it is a place with a renowned university worth visiting. What do I remember? The happiness of a week of disconnection, entirely devoted to a linguistic objective, rich in diverse encounters, boosting as much as one could wish in terms of professional motivation and incredibly facilitated by the support received at USL-B and from the staff of the Atlantic Language Galway. In short, to be recommended without hesitation if you need and want such an experience - happiness guaranteed”
