Course contents :
The course is based on the method Vanzelfsprekend, Nederlands voor anderstaligen, specifically developed for young adults. The material covered in the course consists of part 10 of the textbook and of texts as well as exercises (on Moodle).




Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The two-hour course is mainly devoted to the:
Presentation and explanation of the dialogues of the book Vanzelfsprekend and the chosen articles in terms of vocabulary and grammatical structures, carrying out of various exercises.
This course requires regular and independent work besides class hours.

If part of the teaching activities cannot be carried out face-to-face for health reasons, instructions will be sent by Moodle / Teams and the active participation of each student in these activities is expected. Assessment methods and criteria :
The examination covers the whole subject matter studied in the course. The online documents and the book Vanzelfsprekend provide only a support.

The written examination will take place off session on Monday 9 May 2022.
The oral part also takes place off session - date to be defined.
The written examination (70%) will cover the subject matter for the whole year.
The oral examination (30%) will be based on the reading and preparation of 3 Dutch-speaking articles (approximately 1 A4 page each).

In August, the student represents the term if he or she did not obtain the mark of 10/20. Grades of 10/20 or higher will be retained. The student will therefore not be able to represent the term for which he/she has obtained a mark of 10/20 or higher.

If the sanitary conditions do not allow for face-to-face examinations, the evaluation methods will be hybrid. It will also be an out-of-session examination and the weighting will remain the same. Any changes to the assessments, due to external circumstances, will be communicated via Moodle.
