Learning outcomes :
On completing this Unit "Interpretation", students should be able to demonstrate their ability to: understand a message and the arguments that constitute it, contained in an Italian/french-language oral text; without notes, reformulate an authentic Italian/french-language message in correct and intelligible spoken French/Italian; recognize and respect the intentions of the author of the original message; students should have acquired qualities such as concentration & perseverance.

Course contents :
Practical exercises focusing on transferring oral Italian/French messages (texts) into French/Italian.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Oral exercises (pair work) both in-class and in the language laboratory with tutor's comments on the rendering and structure of the message as well as on the quality of expression in mother tongue/foreign language.
Assessment methods and criteria :
For consecutive interpreting: continuous assessment and oral exam. For liaison: continuous assessment for student result in June and oral exam for student result in August. - Consecutive interpreting (70 %) - Liaison (30 %)
