Learning outcomes :
On completion of this teaching unit (2 parts), the student will be able:
? to consolidate a strong general knowledge through the exercises and constantly extend his or her curiosity
? to demonstrate his/her ability to understand information, memorize it and remobilize this information in a structured manner
? to recognize the transfer techniques from both practical exercises and theoretical background
? to recognize and respect the references and the intertextual intentions in an oral production
? to reformulate the message of the original production into the other language taking into account the intentions of the speaker and identifying the audience addressed in order to adapt to it
? to formulate the message with great accuracy in order to convey the meaning and not the form

For the Bachelor in translation and interpreting :

Course contents :
Consecutive interpreting: ? theoretical highlights ? practical exercises to train memory and linguistic transfer into the A language
Liaison interpreting ? Managing bilingual communication interpreting both ways (from Spanish into French and French into Spanish)
For both types of interpreting: ? Introduction to how to prepare for an interpreting assignment
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Practical interactive training, role playing, simulations in language lab and on site
Assessment methods and criteria :
To obtain the credits of this unit, the student will have to take the two parts of the exam and have submitted the assignments during the term according to the instructions given
Certifying assessment in the form of an oral exam on a given subject: - Consecutive interpreting (70%) - Liaison interpreting (30%) The student shall attend the classes and unjustified absence to more than 2 sessions will automatically imply that he or she will not be authorized to take the exam. Not delivering the essays or works on time without justification will also mean that the student will not be allowed to take the exam.
August examination in case he/she fails in June will be a preparatory work and an oral exam (2 parts) on a given subject.
