Learning outcomes :
The course, designed for the business engineering students. aims at : - Offering them a general knowledge of World economic history; - Endowing them with a better understanding of present economic realities and challenges thanks to a long economic history perspective. - Initiating them to the specificities of an historical approach to economic and social problems.

Course contents :
The core part of the course focuses on the post-industrial revolution period. But the course should also offer a wide historical perspective over the pre-industrial revolution period ( the exact sub-periods selection is flexible).
The course focuses on the different waves of globalization during past and contemporary periods and their impact on the transformation of human societies (wealth, institutions, …).

Face-to-face teaching ; critical reading of economic history articles.
