Course contents :
A mandatory orientation test is organised at the beginning of the first semester. Students can be exempted from having to take this course if they score 16/20 or more on this test, hence showing they have the necessary knowledge to fulfil the learning outcomes of the course.
During the semester, students will be initiated to reading various English legal texts, understanding and summarizing them. Students must therefore read and prepare the relevant documents and exercises before class. The materials will then be analysed together in class.
Reading materials may be made available via Moodle during the semester.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Lectures requiring preparation and active student participation in class.

Assessment methods and criteria :
The evaluation consists of a written exam organised at the end of the first semester including questions of vocabulary, translation into French of excerpts studied in class, and questions about two new texts (similar in nature and topic to those analysed in class). Should the evaluation happen online (Moodle), its modalities will remain the same.

Attendance is mandatory (including to the orientation test). If a student is absent twice, s/he will submit a replacement task. In case of two unjustified absences, s/he shall receive the mark 0A for the course.
