MHIM1311 - Cultural Immersion Activities

Learning outcomes :
At the end of the multicultural immersion activities, the student of Bac 3 demonstrates, in the exams and/or assignments proposed by the host institution, that he/she is able to:

- Properly and accurately handle the syntax and lexicon of one or two C languages ;
- Mobilize, in his professional activity, the theoretical knowledge acquired;
- Understand the information, store it and remobilize it effectively ;
- Use C language in authentic oral and written communication situations (both academic and extracurricular: learning agreement, administrative procedures, etc.);
- Apprehend the cultures (national and foreign) specific to each language in their historical, geopolitical, economic, legal, social and artistic dimensions;
- Detect the underlying socio-cultural components of an oral or written text;
- Analyze the presuppositions, the implicit, the allusions, the stereotypes, the intertextuality of an oral or written text.

Course contents :
A balanced program with courses that contribute to
- improving active and passive knowledge of the host country language, maintaining and improving the level of the student's second language and possibly acquiring a third language;
- deepen the cultural knowledge of the host country (history, geography, press, etc.);
- perfecting the mechanisms and strategies to be mobilized during the translation exercise;
- getting familiar with specialized domains (economics, law, sciences and techniques ...) and specialized tools (computer science, terminology, documentary research) specialized.
