Course contents :
The course is presented in the form of a historical introduction to the history of the philosophy, from Antiquity through to the modern era. This introduction is by no means a simple “survey”. Rather, it aims to build a genuine learning path, in itself “philosophical”, through the thoughts of a certain number of central authors. While trying to highlight wherever possible the complex relationship that links the philosophical activity to its “other” or its “others”, we show in which manner the logos has systematically developed in a proximity-distance relationship with elements that are ever-challenging because of their uncompromising approach to philosophical discourse, but paradoxically constitutive of the latter (the myth, practical commitment, the desire, etc). We thus attempt to conceptualise the philosophical discourse on the basis of the contradictory requirements at work within it and which confer upon it its effectiveness on the speculative and abstract levels, as well as on the ethical or political levels.
