Course contents :
The course is based on a fundamental question: what are the issues at the university which are summoned by a scientific approach and what are the essential stages of this approach? It calls for an exhaustive problematization of the writing of a scientific text, with the use of concrete examples and regularly making use of practical exercises related to the study of literature and the study of linguistics (writing, In-depth analysis of scientific texts, group presentations, etc.).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The theoretical part concentrates on the stakes of the scientific approach (information criticism, qualities of the scientific method and the various research orientations), the stages of the scientific method (from development to conclusions) and on the drafting of an essay.

The practical part includes exercises related to the study of the literature and the study of linguistics: writing, summaries, analysis of cases from essays and dissertations, analysis of presentations (in groups), library missions, ...

Assessment methods and criteria :
The written examination includes theoretical questions and exercises.
