Learning outcomes :
At the end of the course (and practical exercise sessions) students must be able:
- to master the conceptual bases of economics
- to understand the role played by the hypotheses used in the models
- to understand the logic of economic analysis
- to apply the theoretical models in solving numerical problems
- to use the graphic reasoning and the simple algebraic reasoning to explain real economic phenomena.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The course consists of lectures covering theoretical developments in the field of economics, during which the lecturer asks students to take an active part by putting questions to the audience.
The practical exercise sessions led by the teaching assistant relate to the application of the theories through the development of solutions to economic problems. Active student participation is necessary and requires that they read their class notes beforehand.
