Situate the key periods in the history of Russia; identify and explain historical and socio-cultural references in written and oral texts; produce, in writing and orally, a presentation on the key periods in Russian history; manage their linguistic skills and keep them up-to-date; demonstrate their command of the lexical, syntactic and stylistic structures of Russian; use their skills to participate in a wide range of communicational situations.

Theoretical part: an overview of Russian history Practical part: presentation of and discussion - by students - on written and audiovisual documents. Written text of 5 pages

Theoretical part: lecture, students take notes. Practical/applied part: presentation of and discussion - by students - on written and audiovisual documents.
Assessment methods and criteria :
Oral exam: produce a presentation on one of the principal periods in Russian history; Present an oral presentation on a particular current affairs topic and be able to defend a point of view on the topic ; In the written and oral parts, the evaluation focuses on the student's ability to summarise the content, distinguishing the essential from the non-essential, the coherence of the written/oral text produced, the vocabulary range and grammatical correctness.
