Learning outcomes :
Building on the seminars devoted to historiography, this course provides an opportunity for students to reflect on theory and method regarding questions of history from Antiquity to the modern day.

Course contents :
The professors in charge of the seminar will define their topic and propose a theme related to their research, guiding the students through printed and archive sources.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Five lectures by Belgian and international lecturers.
Assessment methods and criteria :
Assessment is by oral examination. Each student is required to be thoroughly familiar with at least three of the 5 lectures. On the day of the examination, the lecturer chooses one of the five as a basis for questions.

A bibliography is included in the course material.
Other information :
A handout containing texts is provided at the start of each lecture.
