Course contents :
The seminar "Europe as it is thought" provides an interdisciplinary reflection on both the innovative aspects of European societies and on the European integration process. It will highlight the modes of representation and theorisation that Europe has produced on itself, and this through different paradigms corresponding to the disciplines involved in the curriculum.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The workshop articulates critical readings of theoretical texts from sociology, political science, history, anthropology, philosophy, law and economics. The challenge for the student is to get access to those divergent/convergent analyses and to develop his own critical point of view and his capacity to bring out a personal argument on European studies.

Assessment methods and criteria :
Evaluation based on a report presented in class or a written work (critical analysis of a theoretical text).
