Course contents :
This Unit gives students a high level of proficiency in the rules of phonetics and grammar that are characteristic of German. Module 1 focuses on the rules of phonetics and provides a grounding in the rules of basic German grammar and their application, principally in relation to verbs and sentences. Module 2 focuses exclusively on developing students' proficiency in using German grammar in context and time is devoted to comparison with French grammar. The goal is twofold: to enhance students' proficiency in German and to provide them with the skills they need to translate verbs, noun phrases, German grammatical structures etc. into French. For the German-speaking Students, the course deals with the grammar of French (chords, lexical spelling and syntactic structures).
