LEUSL2703 - Legal foundations of European integration: Institutional law and general theory

Learning outcomes :
By the completion of the course, as regards to contents, each student shall understand and explain (i) the nature, the features and the functioning of the European Union, (ii) the nature and the features of the European Union legal order and (iii) the fundamental rules of the European Union internal market (free movement, competition, State aid).
As regards to methods and skills, each student shall be able (i) to browse and analyse the main sources of EU law (treaties, case-law, institutions' documents) in order to find relevant information and (ii) to solve a legal problem (from low to medium complexity).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Ex cathedra teaching, without reading assignments. Active involvement of the students is nevertheless requested and encouraged.
Assessment methods and criteria :
Written examination, marked out of 20 points
4 points to assess a reflection question related to Parts A, B and/or C.
10 points to assess specific questions related to Parts A, B and C.
6 points to assess specific questions related to Part D.
