2016 - 2017 Programme
Bachelor in Philosophy For the holder of a Bachelor in History: Contemporary Societies
Introduction
This BA programme is designed to complement the ‘Contemporary Societies’ BA in History.
It qualifies its holders to pursue philosophy at master’s level.
The programme is designed to consolidate and broaden the student’s education in philosophy, and its courses are selected for their synergies with the ‘Contemporary Societies’ BA in History.
Programme content is governed by a harmonisation agreement between the universities of the French-speaking Community of Belgium. As a consequence, at least one course for each subject listed in the agreement for BA programmes in philosophy must be included in one of the student’s two ‘dualled’ programmes (i.e. included in either their BA in History or their second BA in Philosophy) and must total a minimum of 108 ECTS credits.
Programme
Notes
Students who choose their BA history optional courses (15 ECTS credits) from among the courses mentioned above reduce their second BA programme by 15 ECTS credits. The second programme therefore totals 61 ou 62,5 ECTS credits
The distribution of courses over the three years of study is agreed on an individual basis in consultation with Ms Klimis, the head of the philosophy department.
