LEUSL2703A - Legal foundations of European integration: Institutional law and general theory

Learning outcomes :
By the end of the course, student will be able to understand the complex institutional system of the European Union. This understanding achieved, he will then be able to address in other courses the content of the policies pursued by the European institutions.

Course contents :
The lessons describe the scope and the means used in order to enforce the Internal Market law (free movement of goods, of services, of persons and of capital) as well as the principles of the competition law and of the approximation of national legislative measures. Parts of the lessons are devoted to the legal aspects of the implementation of these policies (choice of the legal basis, definition of the scopes and the objectives of the action, choice of the adoption method of the Community act).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Classical teaching, without previous readings. However an active participation in the course is required.

Written or oral examination

A course support is provided for the student and contains many relevant references.
