Learning outcomes :
After having situated China within the framework of its integrated strategy (economic, cultural, political and military), the student will be able to understand the role, scope and operation of China in the world. The case studies illustrate the ability of China as a political actor in international relations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites / Recommended optional programme components :
Bachelor program in political sciences. For graduate students with a bachelor degree in social sciences, the course prerequisites are recommended as those of the minor in political science, especially the introductory course in géopoligique Analysis of the international system.

Course contents :
The course is divided into two parts.
The first part addresses the issues of domestic politics, in which we analyze the institutions, civil society, minorities, the socio-economic issues, etc.
The second part of the course is devoted to foreign and security policy of China which explores, among others, the relations between China and the major powers, China and its quest for energy, the Chinese world view, politics Defense.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Lecture, in the form of a cycle of ongoing conferences. The course lectures are the subject of invitations to a wider audience to which they are open.
