Course contents :
Through the globalisation issue, and based on a reading file, the seminar will study notably the following themes: - The scientific approach - Multidisciplinarity - The distinction between positive and normative economy, the ethical dimension - Economic theory, economic laws, hypotheses… - Formalisation, mathematical modelling - The role played by econometrics, causality - Relation to facts, to reality.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
- Lecture: 5 sessions of 2 hours - Use of the eSaintLouis interface - Collective sessions in subgroups of 20/30 students: 5 sessions of 2 hours - The seminar is built on a federating, common theme: globalisation. The students have at their disposal from the beginning of the term a file of texts and questions-problems as well as a planning - For each lecture, preliminary work is demanded (research of information relating to an issue, structure and questioning of this issue, short statement of one or the other course, reflection on various approaches of the problem). Assignments written in accordance with the rulebook are required, each time putting in place a practical aspect of “academic methodology” (in addition to its intrinsic content) - During the session, synthesis and development of the prepared works will be made. The issue and followed approaches will then be put into critical perspective - The sessions is small groups are devoted to the presentation of a research theme by the students themselves
Assessment methods and criteria :
- 10 points for the intermediate work - 10 points for the final work, which is presented and defended orally
