Objectifs d'apprentissage :
a. Course rationale
This course familiarises students with basic economic problems and offers an introduction to some research topics.

The student must be able to understand and analyse critically economic reports and socio-economic problems, by situating it in a theoretical line of thinking and by applying general economic principles.

Contenu de l'activité :
The programme consists of a number of topics offered by different lecturers. Topics deal with a real-world socio-economic problem (e.g. the ageing problem, sustainability, ...) or introduce students to recent research output from the lecturers. Lecturers are either local professors, international guest professors or guest professors with a business connection. Limited additional self-study reading material can be offered too.

During group lectures the essence of the topic will be explained. The students will be stimulated to critically think about the problem.
