Key learning outcomes

By the end of the bachelor in French and Romance Languages and Literatures, students will have acquired the following skills:

  • perfect mastery of receptive and productive skills of the French language in its spoken and written dimensions;
  • receptive knowledge of another Romance language (Spanish and / or Italian);
  • knowledge of the history of French literature and another Romance literature (Italian and / or Spanish);
  • ability to analyse literary works including the most contemporary;
  • mastery of the French language dimension (its functioning, its position among other languages, its evolution);
  • ability to conduct research of scientific significance in literary and linguistic fields;
  • a global perception of the language in all its forms (structural, historical, aesthetic, communicative, cultural);
  • intellectual openness to cultural and linguistic human productions;
  • a wide general culture that falls within a humanist and an encyclopaedic knowledge;
  • a wealth of transferable skills: strong ability to analyse information, synthesise and write, the ability to set down the terms of a problem and to think critically, a sense of autonomy and responsibility in the face of a variety of tasks.
