Key learning outcomes

At the end of the Advanced Masters in Human Rights students will have acquired a range of specific and transferable academic skills, including:

  • Specialised and up-to-date expertise in the legal context of Human Rights Law in national, international and regional (European and extra-European legal systems) jurisdictions;
  • Knowledge of the principles underpinning the human sciences that are relevant to the field of human rights (history, philosophy and sociology); the ability to contribute to debate on and to use the discipline’s analytical tools in the analysis of human rights questions;
  • Expertise that can be useful to developing countries in relation to their various special needs;
  • Methodological rigour and a desire to present a sourced and critical perspective on human rights questions;
  • The ability to communicate both orally and in writing on human rights’ topics using appropriate sources and reasoning.
