Learning outcomes :
The two main aims objectives are, at first, to build the base of universitary academic ( i.e. documented, reflexive, critical) knwoldge knowledge and understanding of the ground fundamental logics structuring the considered religious traditions under study, with attention for their inner diversities and historical dimension ; and second, while so analyzing, to systematically question, in the course of their analysis, the kind of links so thriving between religion and social life, culture and institutions, with a special concern for the conditions of democratic modernity.

Course contents :
These lectures will consider the three main living traditions the deepest marking occidental history, present the current occident and occidental culture : judaism, christianity and islam. Each of them will be exposed from inneranalyzed from the inside, by a scholar both participating towho is part of the present of thesecurrent tradition and who is alsos and practicing the specific distanciationofdetachment necessary for critical reasoning. In order to increase this questioning distanciation about eachnecessary detachment of these traditions and commitments, each of themthey will be presentend in parallel, with a constant concertationcontinuous consultation between the lecturers ; but this echoing excludes all any comparative evaluation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Lectures on the theoretical development, implying texts readings and some ways of participativepersonal involvmentinvolvement and participation of the students ; but lectures are nor debates nor discussion meetings. On the 4th of december will take place an exchange discussion session between the lecturers and with the students will take place.

Assessment methods and criteria :
Written examination : one question for each lecturer.
