The course aims to provide the students with tools to understand and analyse the content of the EU budget. By the end of the course, the students should be able to understand current debates on the EU budget and link activities and policies to specific budget lines.

Course contents :
The course begins with an analysis of the history of the EU budget. It then describes the decision-making process, as well as the budgetary principles and structure. The content of the EU budget is then examined in detail, both in terms of revenue and expenditure. The heart of the course focuses on the analysis of issues related to the EU budget in its current form. These include discussions on the sources of EU funding, the solidarity instruments, the CAP, etc.
