Course contents :
Two major disciplines will feed this course: sociology of organisations and communication sciences. In terms of the sociology of organisations, after a brief history of how to perceive the organisation in this discipline, we will focus on the organisation as a form of organised action. Authors such as Crozier and Friedberg focusing on the actors and power relations, or authors like Sainsaulieu, Bernoux, Amblard, Mintzberg interested in the functioning of collective action will help us understand the organisation in all its complexity. With regard to the theories of communication, we will return briefly to the transition from a linear approach of communication to an orchestral approach, enriched by contributions from pragmatic linguistics, psychology and cognitive psychology. In this orchestral design, the relationship is central to perspectives.
The subject of this course: “organisational communication” is situated at the intersection of these two disciplines. We will discuss the systemic pragmatist system that allows us to make the link between the contributions of sociology of organisations and the theories of communication. We will illustrate the importance of these theoretical perspectives through various current issues such as problems of culture, identity, participation, decision-making and change.
