Admission Requirements

• Direct entry onto the Master’s 120 ‘ISFSC’ is open to holders of the following qualifications:

  • 1st cycle university qualifications awarded in the French Community of Belgium:
    • Information and Communication
  • 2nd cycle university qualifications awarded in the French Community of Belgium:
    • Information and Communication (Master’s or licence/Degree)
    • Communication
    • Journalism
  • 2nd cycle vocational qualifications from a haute école awarded in the French Community in Belgium:
    • Applied Communication (Master’s or licence/Degree)
    • Press and Information (Master’s or licence/Degree)

 

• Entry onto the Master’s 120 ‘ISFSC’ is open to holders of the following qualifications (on condition of completing 0 to 15 credits of supplementary studies, which are determined by the Examining Board):

  • 1st cycle vocational qualifications of 4 or 5 years in duration from a haute école awarded in the French Community of Belgium:
    • Applied Communication

 

• Entry onto the Master’s 120 ISFSC is open to holders of the following qualifications (on condition of completing 15 to 45 credits of supplementary studies, which are determined by the Examining Board):

  • ‘Short type’ 1st cycle qualifications (i.e. 3 or 4 years of study) awarded in the French Community in Belgium:
    • Communication
    • Writing for Multimedia
    • Public Relations

 

• Entry onto the Master’s 120 ‘ISFSC’ is open to holders of the following qualifications (on condition of completing 30 to 60 credits of supplementary studies, which are determined by the Examining Board):

  • ‘Short type’ 1st cycle qualifications (i.e. 3 or 4 years of study in a haute école or an art higher education institution) awarded in the French Community in Belgium:
    • Marketing
    • E-business
    • Library and Information Science
    • Human Resource Management
    • Performing arts and techniques for multimedia dissemination & communication.

 

• Admission on a case-by-case basis: the types of applicants listed below may enrol on the Master’s 120 ‘ISFSC’ subject to approval of the Admissions Board. Applicants may be required to complete supplementary studies (where applicable this may involve a maximum of 60 credits):

  • adults returning to study (at least 5 years of professional activity) who apply through the procedure for the recognition of professional experience (VAE);
  • holders of a qualification awarded in the French Community other than those listed above (a relevant minor or relevant options will be taken into account in the determination of any supplementary studies);
  • holders of a foreign qualification that is recognised by the French Community of Belgium as equivalent to one of the qualifications listed above;
  • holders of a qualification awarded in the Flemish Community or abroad and, in applicable cases, applicants with personal or professional experience in the field of interactive and collaborative communication that is deemed to be relevant and equivalent to 180 credits by the Admissions Board.

 

• Case by case applications may result in:

  • enrolment is accepted without supplementary studies;
  • enrolment is accepted on the condition of supplementary studies of a max. 60 credits including languages (English or Dutch) for studies not in possession of a B2-C1 level qualification;
  • enrolment is rejected.
