Course contents :

The course provides a reflection on contemporary law or, more precisely, a theorisation, in the sense of problematisation, of the methods and fundamentals of law.

With the aim of developing both the students' critical abilities and their knowledge of the different currents and main concepts in legal theory, this course draws on the knowledge acquired in the courses in positive law, in philosophy, and in the humanities. A crossroads course, therefore, it aims to promote the interdisciplinarity that characterises the Bachelor of Laws programme.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

The course will be given ex cathedra, in a large classroom, unless sanitary regulations require distance learning.

Legal practitioners will be invited to echo the theoretical notions and to engage in debate with the students.

Reference material will be available on moodle, but note-taking is required.

Assessment methods and criteria :
Written exam.

The evaluation criteria include knowledge of the course content as well as the quality of the student's legal and critical reasoning.
