Pédagogie

At Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles and KU Leuven Campus Brussels, lectures are given in moderate-sized auditoriums. This allows students to have close contact with their lecturers.

Economics, quantitative methods and science courses are accompanied by practical exercise sessions given to small groups of students.

Regarding Mathematics, in addition to refresher and assessment courses before the start of the academic year, and exercise sessions during the semester, sessions of facilitated study are organised in the presence of a staff member.

Remedial classes in economics are offered during the second term to students who did not receive passing grades in those exams during the January exam session.

Regardless of the Bachelor programme, both Saint-Louis and KU Leuven places strong emphasis on academic support. The Academic Guidance Service at Saint-Louis offers various support activities and is available to meet with students upon request. A comparable structure exists at KU Leuven where students can rely on a guidance counsellor. External tutoring can also be organised in Mathematics and Statistics.

Evaluation

Testing acquired knowledge (formal assessment) takes place during exam sessions. Most exams are written.

Three exam sessions are organised during the academic year: in January (for CU organised in the first semester), in June (for CU organised in the second semester) and in September (retake exams).

Informal evaluations take place during the academic year in the form of practical exercises to be prepared and submitted. For some courses, a continuous grading system is implemented in addition to the exam.
