German

This course aims at improving listening and speaking skills. Writing exercises and pronunciation workshops will also be offered. There will be a focus on everyday language but a range of topics will be covered and aspects of German culture discussed. At the end of the course the student will be able to :
1) understand German texts (intermediate, B1)
2) express himself orally in a basic but correct language (A2- B1) and write short texts
3) express his personal opinion on a range of topics
The students will improve their language skills and get the opportunity to practice German.

German learning (oral (listening and speaking)) exercises. Different stylistic exercises based on listening comprehensions (video clips, news, …).
Written documents and authentic audio-visual material (German press, internet, radio, tv, …), presenting sociocultural aspects of the Germans-peaking countries. The students will learn to express their opinion on daily life topics.

Interactive course. The students' active participation is required because they need to answer questions and take part in debates based on the texts. An individual follow-up will be arranged. The students will have to hand in written texts to the assistant who will give them feedback (formative).

Written Exam : reading comprehension and listening comprehension (questions)
Oral exam : Discussion on texts seen in class, summaries, descriptions of German celebrities, movies, ...
