Learning outcomes :
This course aims at familiarising the student with:
- the principles of the Community construction;
- the characteristics of the community legal order;
- the organization and the functioning of the European institutions;
- the organization and the achievements of the Council of Europe (notably the European convention on Human Rights) and of the OSCE.

Course contents :
The course describes the scope and methods used to enforce internal market law (free movement of goods, services, persons and capital), as well as the principles of competition law and the harmonisation of national legislations. Part of the course is devoted to the legal aspects of the implementation of these policies (choice of the legal basis, identifying the fields and objectives of the action, selection of the adoption method of the Community act).
