Objectifs d'apprentissage :
In this course, the following key objectives are (partially or fully) realized:

• Shows interest in current affairs and broadens his background knowledge.

• As far as foreign languages are concerned, knows the general vocabulary, specific (business) economic vocabulary and grammar and uses all this accurately in written and oral communication.
o Uses correct grammatical structures in exercises and translations (written and oral communication).
o Acquires frequent general and business economic vocabulary.
o Links the contents of articles, letters, conversations and TV programmes to relevant social, historic, political and geographical data of the countries concerned
o Summarizes a text (oral and written), explains it orally and answers questions about its contents and vocabulary.

• During a discussion or conversation, explains and defends a view on (business) economic problems.

Contenu de l'activité :
Among others the following topics will be dealt with: Gisteren (yesterday), Informatie (information), Naar de dokter (to the doctor), Vroeger (the past), Vacature (vacancy)

Grammar:
• Perfectum / auxiliair + perfectum/ 'om te' + infinitief
• Perfectum / imperatief / 'er' + indefiniet subject
• Comparatief/superlatief / Pronomen reflexivum
• Imperfectum: regelmatig, onregelmatig, separabele verba
• Sebarabele verba in bijzinnen
• Pronomen demonstrativum
• Presens / perfectum / imperfectum


Activités d'apprentissages prévues et méthodes d'enseignement :
In the lessons the following learning methods and activities will be practised:
• Listening to dialogues by native speakers
• Reading texts
• Word explanation and vocabulary exercises
• Learning grammatical structures and doing grammatical exercises
• Pronunciation exercises
• Conversation exercises
• Writing exercises


Méthodes d'évaluation :
Type : Partial or continuous assessment with (final) exam during the examination period
Description of evaluation : Written, Presentation, Participation during contact hours
Type of questions : Open questions, Closed questions
Learning material : None

Permanent evaluation (3/5 of the total mark)
In line with the learning methods described above, students will mostly be "continuously" assessed. In order to receive a score for Dutch 3 students need to have taken all components of permanent evaluation. Students that did not participate in the "permanent evaluation" part in the first exam session cannot take a resit for this course.

The marks for permanent evaluation will be based on:

Participation in class
2 Presentations
3 Writing tasks

Further information will be distributed in class and/or on Toledo. Presence in class is compulsory.

Evaluation in exam session (2/5 of final mark)
The written exam will relate to the subject material that has been dealt with in class. It will consist of exercises such as: grammar/vocabulary exercises, building sentences, vocabulary test, translation English-Dutch.

Any changes to the conditions of evaluation will be announced on Toledo.
