have a strong command of the linguistic and cultural content of the documents studied during the course and be able to demonstrate this in languages A and C • use the vocabulary studied in their own writing • identify the key words, connectives, lexical fields • identify text function and structure • semantically annotate, analyse and answer general or detailed comprehension questions regarding an unfamiliar text • write in standard Spanish with or without writing tools • undertake research online/in the library, etc. • summarise a text from C to A or from C to C • relate the key ideas in a text • reformulate, paraphrase • develop translation strategies informed by pragmatico-theoretical considerations • adopt a self-reflexive attitude towards a translated text • compare translations • translate part of a text taking into account the aspects of comprehension studied in class • write a personal commentary in the target language • raise the student's level from level A1 to level B1

Course contents :
The systematic and contextualised study of vocabulary from a range of topics relating to everyday life and Spanish culture. Development of tools for the comprehension and semantic annotation of texts of increasing difficulty with a view to translating them. Translation and analysis of extracts of selected translations.

• Practical exercises both in class and away-from-the-class • Lecture • A set of course Readings • Group work • Translation • Pre-class study (of topics) at home and comparison of notes in class The type of activity may vary depending the group's level (beginners, intermediate or advanced).
Assessment methods and criteria :
Written Certification Examination on Knowledge and Skills, Formative evaluations The material acquired in module 1 is supposed to be known in module 2.
Specific modalities related to the evaluation of learning activities: Written exam without dictionary that evaluates knowledge and skills. In Q2, obtaining a score of 7/20 or less on the first question (knowledge) will be weighted and will be valid for MHES1131 B.
