HIST1226 - Historiography

Face-to-face , second term, 45 hours of theory.
Monday from 10:45 to 12:45
Thursday from 15:45 to 16:45

French (with some terms in other languages, especially Latin and German, due to the wide geographical area covered by the course).
Learning outcomes :
This course aims to provide students with knowledge of historians and historical currents from Antiquity to the Annales school.

Course contents :
The course examines ideas, methods, currents and authors to understand how history has been practised since the Greco-Roman Antiquity to the early twentieth century.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The presentation will be done following chronological segments, linking major authors with works and contextual elements. Some texts will serve as illustrations.
