Learning outcomes :
The end of cycle assignment that is required from each student enrolled in the third year of the Bachelor in Philosophy, is a first research work through which the student should demonstrate his/her ability to undertake a review of the question of a philosophical problem and/or to open fields of philosophical inquiry, including through interdisciplinary practices. This work is conducted under the supervision of a member of the philosophy group of Saint-Louis University who must carry the title of doctor (the "Promoter").

Through this work, the student must demonstrate his/her ability to use secondary literature in a coherent and critical way as well as his/her ability to meet scientific criteria, to argue and to write clearly and correctly.

Course contents :
The student will determine the precise topic of his/her end of cycle assignment with his/her promoter. It can be thematic or historical and will mobilise some authors as well as reference texts. The work will be made up of between 100 000 and 120 000 characters (including spaces) (between 40 and 45 pages in times 12, 1.5 line spacing).

Assessment methods and criteria :
- The student must submit the subject of his/her end of cycle assignment to the secretariat of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters by November, the 30th at the latest. He/she hands in the ad hoc form mentioning the title of his/her work. The form must be signed by him/herself, his/her promoter and the president of section (this form is available at the secretariat).
- June session: the student must submit his/her end of cycle assignment to the secretariat of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, in triplicate, by the last day of classes (end of the second term). This deposit must be authorised by a letter from the promoter to the Secretariat of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters.
- Session of August-September: the student must submit his/her end of cycle assignment to the secretariat of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, in triplicate, at least 5 working days before the beginning of the session. This deposit must be authorised by a letter from the promoter to the Secretariat of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters.
- Three marks out of 20 are included in the deliberation: a mark from the promoter, a mark from the lector, a third mark being the average of the two previous marks.

Other information :
- If the subject of the project justifies it, the lector can be someone outside the Saint-Louis University.
- The third mark integrated to the deliberation aims to increase the weight of the end of cycle assignment in the final average, in accordance with the 9 ECTS.
