Welcome
The EU Environmental Policies & Law (POLLEN) is a novel and intensive academic programme
organised by the Institute for European Studies in partnership with the Research Centre in Political Science at Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles.
In 2016, the European Commission selected this programme as a Jean Monnet Module (2016-2019).
The POLLEN Module aims to foster excellence-in-teaching in EU Environmental studies and consists of a two-week course of 43 teaching hours (staggered hours - from 15h30 to 19h30 including two Saturday mornings) covering the following areas:
EU Environmental Law
EU in Multilateral Negotiations
Air Pollution in Court
EU Climate Change and Energy Governance
EU Waste Management, Chemicals, and Nanotechnologies
Biodiversity, Agriculture, Food, and Trade

Its added academic value relies on its interdisciplinary character. Confirmed speakers come from humanities and social sciences, Law and from applied sciences. It thus exposes participants to a range of theoretical approaches and methodological skills, helping them bolster their career prospects and grasp the environmental challenges Europe faces today.
