Grants for language-learning study visits

Saint-Louis offers grants to help students with the costs of a language study visit to a foreign country during the summer holiday period.

Eligibility conditions

Language study grants are available to undergraduate students at each of the four Faculties, (with the exception of: final year ESPO students, third year students having already undertaken an ERASMUS exchange, and priority is given to students who have never studied abroad).

Applying for a grant

During the summer holidays it is possible to study in Belgium if you wish to learn Dutch, or to study abroad if you wish to learn or hone your language skills in another foreign language.

If you are interested in this opportunity you need to submit a request using a standard application form. You may opt for a language programme selected by Saint-Louis, or a course of your choice. If you wish to follow a programme or course of your choice you will need to submit a copy of the programme/course brochure with your request form.

The amount of grant available

The amount of the grant is limited to 50% of the total cost of the study visit. Please note that the different Faculties apply different grant ceilings.

The selection process

The selection process also varies depending on the Faculty. Full details are published in March.

If you have a question or would like to obtain a request form, you should contact your faculty secretariat.
