Mobility

Trips to Germanic language countries

Each year, teachers organise a trip (focussed on language and culture) to Great Britain, Germany, or the Netherlands.

This trip is part-subsidised by the university but students will be asked to participate fully in its preparation.

Exchange Programmes

It is enriching to pursue part of one’s programme at a foreign university.

Immersed in a new environment, students develop their abilities to be adaptable and self-reliant. Furthermore, they will usually deepen their knowledge of a language other than French and discover a different culture.

For these reasons, and others, Saint-Louis encourages participation in student exchanges, both through Erasmus and beyond Europe.

Exchange programmes form an integral part of the course. All students have the opportunity to spend the first term of year three on an Erasmus stay. This component accounts for 30 credits.

Grants for language study visits

Students who have submitted a well-motivated letter of application and have obtained sufficient marks in their June exams can obtain a bursary to follow language courses in a European country during the summer vacation.

Current destinations include Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. The bursary covers up to half the cost of the language course and accommodation.
