Objectifs d'apprentissage :
At the end of the course, the students will be able to :
- Develop HR policies in line with the strategy, nature and culture of the organization
- Analyze work situations from a theoretical and academic point of view, strenghtened by in-depth knowledge of recent business cases.
- Understand the job group structure and salary structures of the organization
- Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a recruitment campaign
- Perform a job interview without bias
- Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a selection procedure
- Introduce a newcomer successfully into an organization (respecting the nature and culture of that organization)
- Motivate, reward and lead employees and solving both individual and group conflicts in a satisfactory and effective way.
- Analyze the strenghts and weaknesses of a dismissal procedure.

Contenu de l'activité :
This course offers students an introduction into the world of HR-practices. The main focus is on operational HR and day-to-day activities, but always clearly framed within the specific opportunities and limitations set by the nature and culture of the company and by its (HR) strategy and policies. The course provides a mix between academic studies and theories on the one hand and concrete business examples on the other. Students thereby acquire hands-on knowledge that is backed up by science and will be able to tailor HR-policies to a specific organization. They will also be able to analyze work situations from a theoretical and academic point of view and to intervene effectively in the organization. Students will be taught :
- That there are different ways to look at staff and what the effects of each perspective are.
- How jobs are designed in organizations and how salary structures are made
- How to perform an effective recruitment campaign
- The advantages and downsides of selection instruments like job interviews, assessment centers, personaity tests, etc.
- How to introduce newcomers into the organization and the effects on group dynamics and organizational performance.
- How employees can be motivated and led, including engagement of staff, job crafting, leadership styles, mid year reviews and evaluation interviews, and conflict management.
- How workers can be dismissed, caring both for those who leave as well as for those who stay in the organization.
