Dr. Amandine ORSINI - POLLEN Module's Academic Coordinator

Amandine Orsini is Prof. of International Relations at UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles and Guest Professor at the Institute for European Studies of ULB. She teaches courses on international relations, international organisations and Energy and Environmental Policies of the EU. In 2020, she co-edited a volume inspired by the POLLEN Module entitled EU Environmental Governance. Current and Future Challenges (with E. Kavvatha, Routledge, 2020). She also published two handbooks: Essential Concepts of Global Environmental Politics (with JF Morin, Routledge, 2020), and Global Environmental Politics. Understanding the Politics of the Earth (with JF Morin and S. Jinnah, OUP, 2020). She is a member of, among others, the international network Earth System Governance and organises annually the WIRE workshops series. She is Academic Coordinator and teaches the POLLEN's training session.

 

 

 

Eleni KAVVATHA - Research Officer

Eleni Kavvatha holds a Bachelor in International and European Studies followed by a Master’s degree in Environmental Governance and Sustainable Development, from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences  in Athens. She has also studied Energy Environment and Sustainable Development at the University of Oslo and International Perspectives on Business and Governance in the High North at Nord Universitet – Business School – High North Center for Business and Governance in Bodo, Norway. She also has training on Climate Change Entrepreneurship and Climate Change related Challenges from the Climate-Kic organization. 

 

At UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles, she works as a Research Officer and Research Assistant for CReSPo (Centre of Research in Political Science and the Institute of European Studies) at the Module EU Environmental Policies & Law (POLLEN), under the supervision of Amandine Orsini. She also teaches the training session “How to write a Policy Brief”. She has also worked as the coordinator of the  EU Business Law & WTO Practice Summer School for IES.

 

Prior to to joining the IES and CReSPo UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles, she has worked as a Research Officer in Greece and Norway and is the co-creator of a business plan for sustainable solutions to address Climate Change, by designing a rainwater drainage system for refugee camps, in collaboration with Climate-KIC.

 

Her research is focused on Democratic Dynamics in the EU External Relations in the High North, non - state actors in the Arctic, Indigenous Peoples Organizations, Arctic communities,  Arctic Governance and the Arctic Council.

 

 

 

 

Thérèse DAVIO - Project Officer

Thérèse Davio holds a Law degree from Université catholique de Louvain.

At IES UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles, she assists in all aspects of management, supports in the preparation of EU Projetcs' Design and helps increase student involvement in and public awareness of IES UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles research activities. Prior to joining IES UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles, she worked as administrative manager at the Hoover Chair (UCLouvain). She is the Project Officer in charge of the POLLEN academic affairs, research dissemination and budgetary issues.
